A diagnostic session is an initial meeting to assess the student's academic level, learning style, and goals. During this session, we gauge student's strengths, background, and areas they want to improve coupled with some work on their in class material. Based on the student's responses, we design a customized plan of action to help them achieve their goals. The diagnostic session would serve as a foundation for future tutoring sessions and ensure that the student receives personalized guidance that is tailored to their specific needs. A standard session would be highly interactive and student-centered. We would start by reviewing the student's progress since the previous session and addressing any questions or concerns that they may have. Then, utilizing a variety of techniques such as visual aids, practical exercises, and quizzes we reinforce concepts and engage the student in active learning. If needed, we can also assign homework that is relevant to the lesson and would help the student apply what they have learned independently. The session would conclude with a brief recap of the lesson and an overview of the homework that has been assigned as well as a personalized note sheet for the student to use as reference. A teaching session is one that would entail teaching a subject independently of a student's existing curriculum. We prepare for such a session by organizing resources, homework, and a lesson plan in advance. During the session we teach through the lesson plan in an interactive manner utilizing the socratic method for optimal engagement, personalizing the content and pace for students as needed. This could include the uses of interactive labs as well guided projects that would take time outside of class to prepare. Pod sessions are specifically scheduled in advance and would typically be meant to teach broad concepts. These sessions are typically meant to help keep students ahead of their coursework in school so that they are better able to grasp the material in advance. A typical session is structured much like in school instruction, but with a smaller class size, allowing students to receive more individual attention than they would in a school setting. Optional homework will be assigned at the end of each session, but it is recommended that students complete the homework in order to ensure full retention.
